Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd, Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London House, under date of the 23rd inst. — Butter—There is a difference inthe demand for salted and unsalted. The market is very firm in consequence of short stocks. The Copenhagen official quotation remains unchanged, and we do not expect any immediate change in prices. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending 18th inst amounted to' as compared with 118,000cwt for the corresponding week of 1907; showing a decrease of 7,ooorcw . Salted and unsalted, 118s. Frozen meatThere i 3 a slightly better demand • for frozen meat with the exception of secondary qualities, but prices x are ynchanged. Australian frozen * lamb-Lower by Jd to id per lb; new season's New Zealand lamb, 6£d. Tallow—The market is unsettled. Wool—Owing to a thick fog po sales have been held to-day.
