LONDON WOOL SALES.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Wellington, have received the following cable message from their London House, under date of the 21st inst:—Sales opened with a fair selection. There is a large attendance of buyers, and competition is animated. As compared with closing rates of last series prices for all good merino wools are fully maintained. Burry wools—Frices are on the average 5 per cent lower. Crossbred wools Any change in prices is in favour ofs buyers. 1 ;fr BSf TEIiKGIiAPH —T'UF,SS> ASSOCIATION. • Received January 23, 8.35 a.m. LONDON, January 22. At the wool sales 7,074 bales were offered, chiefly merinos. There was a splendid attendance and keen competition. Best rt.erinos were very firm, with a hardening tendency. Top-making sorts were unchanged, and very faulty 5 per cent below prices of December sales. A small selection of crossbred was 5 per cent cheaper, and merino lambs a halfpenny dearer. Received January 23, 10.53 a.m. LONDON, January 22. There was keen competition at the wool stiles, and all qualities were at full opening rates. BY TETjUGXtAI'ir—l-RKHH ASSOCIATION. A cablegram from the High Commissioner, dated January 22nd, states that the wool sales have commenced with active competition, except fcr heavy inferior classes, which are £d lower than prices quoted at the closing of the last sales.
