WORK RESUMED.

The Pelaw Main colliery, which was thrown idle owing to a dispute with the wheelers over the hours of starting and finishing work, has resumed operations.

In reply to a memorial from exporters, flour merchants are asking for a shipping subsidy to assist in the development of trada with the .East.
The Premier stated.;that no subsidy could be granted to the Burns 'Philp and Company's line, because it was no part of the function of the Goveimment to protect shipping companies against competition. A BAD OUTLOOK. MANY MINERS IDLE AT BROKEN HILL.
SYDNEY, January 18
The secretary of the Broken Hill Miners' Association advises that three thousand miners are *idle, and warns workers against going there.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN-VICTORIA BOUNDARY .SETTLED.
ADELAIDE, January 18,
At a conference between the Premier of South Australia (Mr Price) and the Premier of Victoria (Mr B?nt) the long-standing dispute regarding the horde territory has been settled. The territory involved a value of £250,000.
Victoria undertakes to pay South Australia half this amount, and in return assumes undisputed possession of the territory, which she has held and administered for a long time.
