MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
WORKS COMMITTEE. The adjourned meeting of the Masterton Borough Works Committee was held last evening, and was attended by CrsJ. H. Pauling (chairman), W. Pragnell, W. Morria and A. Haughey. The committee approved of the draft regulations governing the and also the conditions in connection with the appointment of the custodian.
The application of the manager of the abattoir for an increased allowance for horse accommodation was adjourned pending consideration being given to the question of building borough stables. It was decided to request the Gas Committee to issue instructions that the works department be supplied with coal, coke and tar when required at the net cost price to them. The committee authorised the Acting Town Clerk to engage suitable temporary office staff assistance at an expenditure not exceeding the rate of £l3O per annum, in order that pressing matters may receive attention.
Accounts to £347 13s 6d were passed for payment.
