PRICE OF TIMBER.

The Wellington Timber Merchants Association has advanced the price of timber all round, owing to the charges made by the country merchants being increased. It is stated also that the cutting out of the bush and the necessity for going farther back has necessitated an increase in the price. Kauri has been advanced 23 per hundred feet, red pine Is, and heart of matai Is.
