THE NEW ZEALAND TARIFF.
TARIFF COMMISSIONERS' REPORT. Received January 17, 1.1 a.m. LONDON, January 16. The Tariff Commission, in analysing the New Zealand tariff, shows that preference affects four millions worth of goods in groups wherein the British trade is chiefly concerned, compared with two and three-quarter millions under the old tariff. Of the imports now the subject'of preference about one-fifth is imported from foreign countries. Speaking generally, the commission considers that the level of the tariff is slightly reduced.
