KALGOORLIE MINES.
PROSPECT OF FAILURE OF GOLD. A SUGGESTION. Received January 16, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, January 15. Mr Hermann, London chairman of the Associated Blocks (West Australia) Co., Ltd., presiding at a meeting of the company, suggested that the Government of Western Australia ought to test and explore the Kalgoorlie district, where, so far as he could see, all the producing mines were approaching their end. He believed the Governmennt would not grudge £IOO,OOO or £200,000 for this purpose, and the mining companies should be only too eager to contribute.--
