CHERBOURG ARSENAL.

ELEVEN YEARS' TORPEDO RECORDS STOLEN. Received January. 15, 8.4 a.m. PARIS, January 15. The newspaper "Eclair" reports the theft from Cherbourg Arsenal of eleven years' records concerning, the handling of different types of torpedoes. It is believed it would be impossible to replace them. \

In August there was' great excitement at Cherbourg over the disappearance of one of the microphones moored off the harbour, and intended to report the presence of hostile ships in war-time. Since then a new torpedo of Italian invention has disappeared from the Toulon Arsenal. In November a Lieutenant Ullmo and several civilians were arrested, their apprehension leading, it is said, to the discovery of an international espionage a.ency in the south of France.
