She was attended by her niece, Miss Mabel Sutton, /as bridesmaid, who was attired in a becoming pale de-chene dress and carried bouquet. Mr Jasper Ingram, brother Jof the bride, was best man. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. M. Johnson, and the service was, a choral one. Mr H. S. Claughton presided at the organ, and played the Wedding March as the bridal party left the Church. A reception was subsequently held at the Arcadia Tea Rooms, where a large number of guests were entertained, and the usual congratulatory toasts honoured. The bridegroom's present tojjthe bride and bridesmaid was a gold brooch each, and the bride presented the bridegroom with a gold sovereign case. Mr and Mrs Brookes left by the afternoon train for Wanganui—their future home. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume with a cream hat trimmed with pink roses.
