PAINTINGS FOR AUSTRALIA

A VALUABLE COLLECTION

Received Janaury 8, 9 a.m. LONDON, January 7. Mr Joshua Lake, of Melbourne, has arranged a loan art exhibition for Australia. He has sailed with 400 paintings, occupying 600 feet of line space, by 218 artists, in:luding presidents of the Royal Academy and Eight Royal Societies, and many other well-known painters. He also takes with him 400 miniatures and etchings and miscellaneous works of art of a total value of £50,000. There are included in his collection twenty loan pictures, of the value of £B,QOO, representing leading artists.
