STOCK MARKET.
I Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Pahiatua sale, held in their yards yesterday, as follow: — There was a fair yarding of sheep and a large yarding of cattle. Bidding was brisker for cattle under the hammer, but sheep were easier, the quality being inferior. However, we managed to quit nearly all the cattle and all the sheep, except one pen. We quote: Ewes and lambs, all counted, 9s 9d; hoggets, lis lOd to 14s; cows and calves, £2 2s to £2 6s; empty heifers to £2 8s 6d: forward cows to £3 2s; store cows, £2; mixed 18-months cattle, £2 0s Gd; yearling heifers, 20s; weaners, 16s; bulls, to £2 2s.
