CASE OF PETTIBONE. AN ACQUITTAL. Recei ed January 7, 9.40 a.m. LONDON, January 6. The trial at Boise City, Idaho, of J. Pettibone, one of the members of the committee of the Western Feder ation of Miners, for the murder of Frank Stuenenberg, ex-Governor of Idaho, insulted in an acquittal. (In July last, the trial of Haywood, Moyer and Pettibone, officials of the Western Miners' Federation, for complicity in the murder of Mr Steunenberg, Governor of Idaho, which had been proceeding at Boise for several months, ended, so far as Haywood was concerned, in a verdict of acquittal. The case against Moyer, it was understood at the time, would be abandoned, but later it was announced that it would be gone on with. Havwood's trial cost the State of Idaho £IB,OOO, and £30,000 was spent in the defence).
