Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the twenty-four hours up till 9 a.m. on Monday was 17 points. At 9 a.m. yesterday Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the substquent 24 hours: — Wind. — Moderate to strong from the eastward at ail places northward of Queenstown and Oamaru, but from the northward elsewhere. Barometer. Rise slowly northward of Napier and New Plymouth; little movement then southward of Kaikoura and Hokitika; fall everywhere else.
