Blew His Head Off.

SUICIDE AT NEW BRIGHTON.. CHRISTCHURCH, January 5. This morning Constable Rowe, stationed at New Brighton, was handed a double-barrelled gun found on the beach. It was loaded in one barrel,, the other having been discharged. A. piece of bootlace was attached to oneof the triggers. On searching the beach the body of a young man, identified later as T. G. Benzett, was found with the head partly blown off. Benzett is said to have come from Temuka for a holiday, and was, it is stated, slightly under; the influence of liquor when hearrived at New Brighton last night.
