NEWCASTLE MINING TROUBLE.
Received January 3, 10.43 p.m. SYDNEY, January 3. The situation in Newcastle is again becoming grave. Six mines are now idle. The men demand an advance of fourpence per ton. It is believed that the owners intend, if the strike is not ended tonight, not to go before the special Court arranged by th 2 Premier, and which meets on Monday..
