Ideal weather conditions prevailed when the Otago—Wellington match was resumed to-day. The local team made a wonderful recovery, the last | four wickets adding 244 runs to the score. Blacklock gave a masterly exposition of clean vigorous hitting. Eleven tourers were included in his score, seven of them being from successive hits. He registered 60 in fifty-foui minutes. Mahoney was batting three hours eighteen minutes for his 84 runs. Only one chance was debited against him at 35. Monaghan and Hales established a local' record in representative matches by putting on 84 for the last wicket. Monaghan, who had three sixes to his credit, was unbeaten with 47, while Hales was credited with 48. Torrence was the most successful bow.ler tot' Otago, capturing 6 for %Qr* He had no success with ,the-b'all to-day. Fisher's two wickets-cost 94 runs. In its second strike Otago again I gave an uninteresting exhibition, and I'the rate of run getting was verj tedious. Two wickets fell for nc rims, but Austin and Siedeberg, anc later on Siedeberg and Eckhold, altered the complexion of affairs, anc when stumps were drawn the scort read 115 for four wickets. Siedeberg notched 45 and Eckhold and Mackersj are not out with 28 and 20 respectively. Monaghan was the most successful bowler. Otago, with six wickets to fall, has to compile 74 runs to avert a 6nei innings defeat.

A match was played at Blenheim, on Christmas and Boxing Days, between a team representing the Masterton Club and a team selected from the clubs in Blenheim. The game resulted in a draw. Masterton made 198 (Redmond not out 94, Prow 71, Swan 17), and 77 for 6 wickets (Prow not out 55. Redmond 8, Swan 7, Thompson 5). Marlborough made 138 (0. Hastilow 38, Pierpont 23, A. Mills 21, A. Hastilow 19), and 181 (Pierpont 73, A. Hastilow 44, C. Hastilow 21).
