Ideal weather conditions prevailed when the Otago—Wellington match was resumed to-day. The local team made a wonderful recovery, the last | four wickets adding 244 runs to the score. Blacklock gave a masterly exposition of clean vigorous hitting. Eleven tourers were included in his score, seven of them being from successive hits. He registered 60 in fifty-foui minutes. Mahoney was batting three hours eighteen minutes for his 84 runs. Only one chance was debited against him at 35. Monaghan and Hales established a local' record in representative matches by putting on 84 for the last wicket. Monaghan, who had three sixes to his credit, was unbeaten with 47, while Hales was credited with 48.
