SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS' HARD LABOUR. AUCKLAND, December 23. In the Supreme Court, Henry Lawrence Hamilton, charged wth two forgeries, committed soon after serving a sentence for a similar offence, pleaded illness. The Crown Prosecutor said he understood accused was in a dying condition. Mr Justice Denniston imposed an indeterminate sentence with four years ' hard labour on each charge, to be concurrent. Frederick Huntly St. Clair, charged with theft from his employer and false pretences, was sentenced to six months' hard labour.
