METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday. Captain Edwin issued the following forecast: — Wind.—Easterly gale at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Kawhia, extending southward to other parts of the North Island after from 16 to 20 hours; moderate to strong east3rly winds in the South Island north of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and from the northward elsewhere. Barometer. —Fall everywhere. Rain.—Probably heavy north of East Cape, Taupo and Kawhia, extending southward to other parts of the North Island after from 16 to 24 hours; rivers flooded north of Napier and New Plymouth after 24 hours. Warning signals for south-easterly galo is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, and for easterly gale at Tiritiri and E ast Cape.
