TWENTY-FIVE PERSONS
KILLED.
ONE HUNDRED INJURED,
ROME, December 20. An explosion at a privately-owned arms factory at Palermo, Sicily, killed twenty-five persons and injured one hundred.
AN EMIGRANTS' HOTEL DEMOLISHED. FIFTY BODIES RECOVERED. TWENTY-THREE WOMEN AND CHILDREN AMONG VICTIMS. Received December 22, 4.25 p.m. ROME, December 21. The explosion was due to the illegal storing of explosives in the factory. . Two buildings, including an Emigrants' Hotel, were involved in the explosion, and a cab passing at the time was blown to atoms. Fifty bodies have been recovered from the ruins. The majority of the victims were •returned emigrants, including fifteen women and eight children.
