ENGLAND v. VICTORIAN
ELEVEN. BY TELEGRAPH - MIESS ASSOCIATION. Received December 21, 8.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, December 21. The Englishmen met a Victorian team which with the exception of about three comprised the bedt players of the State. Braund, Blythe and Young stood out of the visiting team. The weather was hot and very sultry. Hobbs and Crawford began batting. The latter gave a chance before he had scored. Afterwards he batted vigorously and hit three sixers. Hayes and tbbbs put up a fine partnership. Hayes, when 18, was badly missed by Armstrong. Hayes played a great game, and lifted Tarrant out of the ground. Hobbs played his best innings of the tour.
