THE SHAII MAKES A REQUEST
TREASON AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION. Received December 18, 8.22 a.m. TEHERAN, December 17. The Shah asked for the dismissal of 2,000 armed Nationalists, who were guarding Parliament, but the President refused, declaring that the Shah was committing treason against the constitution, necessitating his deposition.
