JAPAN'S NAVY AND ARMY.
CURTAILMENTS OF UNDERTAKINGS. Received December 17, 10.35 p.m. LONDON, December 17. The "Telegraph's" Tokio correspondent states that Cabinet has decided, from the next fiscal year, to postpone the military undertakings to the extent of two million sterling annually for the next six years, and to curtail naval expenditure for 1908 by half a million, and by £5,800,000 during the next six years. This is largely due to the influence of Ccunt Katouras and the elder statesmen.
