BY TiJJJEOIIAVH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. TROUBLE OVER A CROWN LEASE. LAND ACT IGNORED. BLENHEIM, December 10. Tho Land Board resolved to grant a transfer of a Crown lease in defiance of the department's ruling that by section 35 of the new Land Act all applications to transfer must be submitted to the Minister. The Commissioner of Crown Lands dissented from . the Board's decision, which will probably have the effect of bringing the matter into the Supreme Court for an interpretation. BREACHES OF AWARDS. CHRISTCHURCH, December 10. In the Arbitration Court, to-day, J. Thornton, a bootmaker, was fined £5 and costs for dismissing a man during the consideration of an industrial award. Adams, . Limited, cycle makers, were fined £5 in each case for paying less than the minimum wage to two boys. The court 'said it was a deliberate breach of the award. J. Dingle, butcher, was fined £3 for underpaying an employee. Thomas McNaught, saddler, Amberly. was fined £5 for failing to pay overtime. RECENT CHRISTCHURCH WIFE SHOOTING CASE. WILSON RECOVERING. CHRISTCHURCH, December 10. , Hans Wilson, the man who last month murdered his wife by shooting her with a revolver, and then attempted suicide, is rapidly recovering, and will shortly be discharged from hospital. (The coroner's jury brought in a verdict of wilful murder against Wilson.)
