CARTERTON.
From Our Own Correspondent. Friday. During the month of November 24,000 field pipes and 28,000 bricks were sent away from the local brick factory. At the Police Court, to-day, a man, named John George Co.ulson, who was arrested at Wtstport'on a charge of stealing a horse, cart and harness, the property of George Henry Perry, formerly of Carterton, but now residing at Masterton, was brought before Moore and Jas. Brown, J.P's.jJßnd charged with the offence. The accused was also charged with the theft of two pigs. Mr Lavery ap-
peared for the accused and Constable McKelvie conducted the case for the prosecution. The charges were taken separately. To the theft of the horse, cart and harness, accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Wellington Supreme Court for trial. On the second count of the theft of the pigs accused reserve ] his defence, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed.
