AN AUCKLAND NOMINEE. AUCKLAND, December 6. At a meeting of the Professorial Board of the Auckland University, today, Mr Soloman Netheim Ziman, B.Sc, was nominated for the Rhodes scholarship. He was bom in 1886 at Wellington, where he attended the Clyde Quay school, coming to Auck • land in 1897, where he won the Junior Foundation scholarship. CONDEMNED BUILDINGS. The director of the Wellington Technical School states, in his annual report, that the school has steadily progressed and »developed during the year, A number of new classes have boen established with satisfactory results. There was an average attendance during the year of 4,081, constituting, the director said, a record for the dominion. BIG, LOAN FOR MIRAMAR. WELLINGTON, December 6. The ratepayers of Miramar, at a poll taken today, endorsed by 150 votes to 11 the proposals of the Borough Council to borrow £71,000 for the purpose of drainage, water supply and street improvement.
