The following awards have been made by the Royal Humane Society _ Rangi Norman, a, schoolboy, thirteen years of age, arid Ereti Pahura, a Maori, for attempting to rescue a Maori girl from drowning at Papawai, near Greytown North', in April —a bronze medal each. Maria Tame MacFarlane, for rescuing a man named Charles Grigsley from drowning at Kiwitahi, in January last —silver medal. Edward Haughey, aged sixteen, for rescuing a girl named Lilian Jane Fisher from drowning near the Barb&does Street bridge, Christchurch, on December 10th. 1906—a letter of commendation. - ; George Edgar Dairyman, of Lyttel-' ton, for rescuing a schoolboy named John Fitzsimmons from drowning in Lyttelton harbour, on December 16th, 1906—a letter of commendation. Selwyn Thomas Ellingham, fifteen years of age, for rescuing two boys named R. J. Dowsing and C. H. Dowsing from drowning at Acukland on March 28th—bronze medal. Clarence Sheridan, fifteen years of age, of Blenheim, for rescuing a lad named William Hall from drowning on October 2nd, 1907—bronze medal. Henry William Schwass, a railway : servant, for rescuing a girl nameel Selina J. Bishop from drowning at Nelson on January 16th,. 1907 —certificate. * John Alexander Corrie, for rescuing a boy named James Sullivan from drowning at Lyttelton on September 17th, 1907—a commendation. Miss Jean Donaldson, matron of the Waltham Orphange, Christchurch, for rescuing a number of children from the fire on October. 6th, 1906 —gold medal.
