METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up to 9 a.m. on Friday was 9 points. Captain Edwin reports at 9 a.m. ; yesterday, the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours Wind—Moderate to strong from the westward in all parts of the coun- < try, but changing to the northward after from 12 to 20 hours at all places southward of Napier and New Plymouth. Barometer—Little movement north • of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan; ' rise thence slowly to New Plymouth •• and Napier; fall everywhere else after from ten to sixteen hours. Rain is probable in the South Island generally after from twelve to twwty hours. W'jping signals for northerly gale is exhibited at Nugge*; Point, and will be shown after sunrise at Cape? Foulwind, Campbell and Farewell -Spit.
