WOOL MARKET.
DECLINE IN LONDON. Received November 27, 11.20 a.m. LONDON, November 26. The wool sales opened weak at from 71d,t0 10 per cent decline. DECREASE IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, November 27. The first wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 4,075 bales were offered, being an increase of 365 bales on the opening sales last year. A decrease in pri:es was anticipated owing chiefly to the tightness of the money market, but it was rather surprising, that this ex--1 tended to fine wools. The decrease ranged frcm ljd to 3d for both qualities. The wool was in really excellent condition, and showed an allround improvement in quality. At the Auckland Farmers' Union sales fine crossbrsds realised from B£d to 9|d, coarse breeds 7Jd to Bd. At G. W. Binney and Company's sales lid was the top price realised for a consignment of halfbred wool from the Bay of Islands, but 7d tc 9Ad was the average price of halfbreds. At the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.'s, Ltd., sale, P. H. Gibson, of Whakapirau, topped the list with ll|d for ten bales of fine crossbred. Shropshires were well competed for up to 10id. Throughout there was a noticeable decrease in the values as compared with the corresponding sales of last year, fine-haired wools showing a drop of ljd to and coarser sorts from 2d to £*d.
