Over twenty bulls were shown in the various Jersey classes, and a large number of cowa. The judge and prominent breeders expressed thejgopinion that they had nevar such a magnificent show of Jerseys in the dominion. The Ayrshire, Holsteiu and Shorthorn classes were well filled. The classes were of a high grade. Horses, particularly draughts and hacks, were of exceptionally fine quality. The growth of sheep-raising in Taranaki was evidenced by the record number .of entries in all classes. The championships were awarded as follows -.—Jersey bull: F. Fowler's Pride of JBeaconsfield. Jersey cow, C. Clarke's Lady Disdain. SheepEnglish Leicester ewe: S. R. Lancaster. Lincolns: J. R. Corrigan. Clydesdale mare: F. A. Bremer's Glennie. The pig classes did not fill well. A few competitions were got off, but the bulk of the events are set down for People's Day, which promises to be the most successful in the history of the society.
