WELLINGTON HIDE AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report ;as follows regarding Friday's sa'e:--We offered 3,200 skins, 600 hides and calfskins, and a Quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers No wool was offered, as all bale wool is being held •over for the second wool sale of the ■season to be held on December 6th. Skins—The market was easier by Ad per lb on dry, and 6d each on green rskins. This is owing to weak over-sea markets, We quote: —Merinos 7d to Bd, fine crossbreds 7§d to BJd, coarse crossbreds 7d to 7Jd, dead skins 6d to » 6|d, dead hoggets 5d to 6d, dry pelts -J& 4d to sd, green skins 5s to 7s lOd. 'Tallow—B'irm. Parcels in shipping order £26, tins £l7 to £23, rough fat .£l3. Horsehair —Is to Is 4d per lb. Horns—6s to 20s per 100. Covvtails— Is to Is 6d per dozen. Hides —Hides were weak in sympathy with Mel 'bourne a*:d Sydney markets to the extent of gel per lb. Calfskins were lower by Id. We quote :--Qx hides, extra heavy s£d to s£d, ox hides, 601b3 to 70lbs 5Jd to s£d, ox hides, HOlbs.to 591 bs 4gd to s|d, cow hides 4d to 4i<J, calf skins, best 5d to s|d, calf skins, cut and slippy 2d to 4d, hides, cut and slippy 2d to 3d, stag hides 2£d to 3|d, bull hides 2£d to 3£d. Our next sale will be held on Friday, December 20th. The sale fined for December 6th will not be held owing to the second wool sale falling on that date. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—There wai a lair attendance of buyers. We have to report a drop of about Jd per lb in sound pelted skins, from |d to Id per lb in damaged and about Jd in hides to l|d in calfskins. Our catalogue comprised about 900 skins, 150 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow. All wool is being held over for sale on December 6th. We quote:— Sheepskins—Halfbred and fine crossbred 7£d to BJd per lb, crossbred - coarse 7d to 72d, dead 5Jd to 6|d, broken and inferior 2|d to sd, green skins from 6s 3d each, green lambskins from Is to Is 6d each, green pelts from Is 6d to Is lid each. Hides—Ox, light. 4d to 4|d per lb, cow, light 4d to 4jd, cut and damaged 3d to 4d, cal A ', sound 4£d to s£d, calf, damaged lid to 4|d. Cowtails—ls 3d to is 4|d per dozen. Tallow—Mixed in odd packages 17s 6d to 22s 3d per cwt, fat 14s per <2wt.
