There was a large entry, and for good yyung sorts there ; was keen competition, for aged | horses and weeds there was no demand, and several had to be passed out unsold. A rea'.ly nice line of J young unbroken 3 and 4-year-old light j draughts and harness horses met wi'h ready sale, '.he bulk cf this consignment going to West Coas*; buyers. They quote: Three-year light draughts £22 10s.to £24 15s, two-year-old £ls to £l9, heavy draughts £35 to £4O 10s, hacks £lO 16s lOd, horse, gig and harness £4O ss. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report having submitted to auction at Taratahi, yesterday, on account of Mr C. H. Thompson, his farm comprising 250 acres. Bidding was not very keen under the hammer, but a deal was made privately almost immediately afterwards, Mr C. Reynolds being the purchaser at a satisfactory figure. The stock an J implements were thin offered,and every line cleared at rates on a par with recent sales of stock, etc. Ewes and lambs made 245, rams l*gn to 2gns, hoggets IGs 6d, diary cows £3 to £5 2s 6d, mixed cattle ljr to 3yrs £3 10s, farm mares and geldings mostly aged £l6 to £3B. Farm implements and machinery, though all sold, were at rates in favour of buyers.
