"FLAPDOODLE."

Although both Houses of Parliament have adjourned until this morning to put some finishing touches on the business, the session really closed on Saturday evening. Most'of the members had gone or were about to go to their several homes, and to the remnant of those in the House of Representatives Sir Joseph Ward bade a very hearty farewell. He-thanked Mr W. F. Massey and members for thencourtesy during the session. He was sorry, he said, to lose them, although very glad that they would be able to get to their homes again after an arduous session's work; and he hoped to see thorn all looking well and happy on their return next session- They all had his best wishes for their welfare. And so with a paternal blessing the Prime Minister of the dominion dismissed political friends and foes. They had been very good boys on the whole, and had let ham do pretty nearly just what he liked, and if there should be any trouble hereafter, well, there would be ample opportunity to cast the blame upon the Opposition and the Premier's recalcitrant followers when Parliament again assembled, or when the general election took place. With equal caurtesy, and probably with equal sincerity, the Leader of tha Opposition thanked ti.•:-. Premier for his kind expressions, which he said—with a mental wink probably—he and his party reciprocated.
