From Our Own Correspondent,

Friday. Haymaking has commenced on some of the farms around Carterton. Two thousand three hundred gallons of milk are now being received daily at the Taratahi dairy factory. There is a scarcity of tailors in Carterton just now. One local business man states that he has in hand sufficient orders to keep half-a-dozen men employed for some mouths, but is unable to get tailors. Several enjoyable games of bowls were played on the local green yesterday afternoon.
