THE RECENT IMPOUNDING CASE.
To the Editor. Sir,—The. delivered by Mr W. P. James, S.M., last Saturday, re . County Council versus Patrick Hamill, opens up, to my mind, rather a knotty question. His Worship is reported to have said that after careful investigation of the council's books had been made, no record could be found as to the establishment or abolition ot the Taueru pound since 1878. If this be correct, who is responsible for all stock sold, impoundage and driving fees received at the said pound. Perhaps Mr Editor, you might throw some light, upon this apparently knotty question? —I am, etc., . STOCKMAN. Masterton, November 18, 1907?
