SENTENCES ON BOOKMAKERS.
PETITION TO PARLIAMENT. . iiy Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 18. The petition which is to be presented to Parliament, protesting against the action of the magistrate in imprisoning several bookmakers for trespassing on the Riccarton racecourse, instead of inflicting a fine,, has been signed by nearly ten thousand persons.
