A list of judges for next year's show was drawn up. The committee then dealt with the items contained in the suggestion book. Mr W. Kemp suggested that the horticultural department at the show could be improved by. making- it compulsory for exhibitors to name their exhibits in that department. If the show was to be educative, this was necessary both from visitors' and competitors' points of view. Mr Kemp further suggested that the name of the gardener as well as the employer should be added to the exhibitors' cards. These suggestions were considered good and adopted. A suggestion was received from Mr F. W. H. Kurnmer putting forward, the following alterations with regard to farmers' classes of sheep:—"All sheep in classes 215 to 220, inclusive, to be judged on the estimated value of next season's lambs and wool combined, and classes 221 to 222 to be judged in the same way, but the estimate is to be for a season later." It was considered too late to put the suggestion into practical effect for the coining show. Mr A. J. Johnson offered a suggestion that the stewards in the light horse classes should be provided with a megaphone to announce the various classes to be judged in the ring. The secretary was instructed to inquire the cost of a megaphone. Mr J. Blatchford brought under the notice of the committee the practices adopted at the show to defeat the gatekeepers and suggested that stricter supervision should be kept at *;he gates. The matter was referred to the committee appointed to deal with the printing and issuing -of tickets.
The following new members were elected:- Messrs C. Ho'mes, T. IJ. Power, J. Compton, J. Stempa, J. B. Henry and R. Morrison. The resignations of Messrs C. Harris, W. J. Moore, D. Mackay and P. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Messrs Thomas and Cool', woolbrokers, of London, for the handsome silver bowl presented to the association for competition in farmers' classes.
