A TRAGIC AFFAIR.
WIFE MURDER AND ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 13. Some time ago a man named Hans Wi'.lson attempted to murder his wife. He was sent to a Mental Hospital, but was released recently, as it was believed he had fully recovered his reason. A prohibition order was issued against him, and he wa3 apparently behaving well. This morning, however, he fired three shots at his wife, all taking effect, and the woman is dead. He then shut himself up in a room, and fired twice at his own breast. He has bef<(n removed to the hospital, but hopes of his recovery are slight. Wilson is fifty years of age, and has five children. THE INQUEST. CHRISTCHURCH, November 13. An inquest opened to-night concerning the death of Mrs Wilson, wh:> was shot by her husband this morning. The medical evidence given was that the wounds by the revolver might not have caused death, and the inquest was adjourned till to-morrow for a post mortem examination.
