FOOTBALL.

The New Zealand football team at present touring the district under the jurisdiction of the Northern Rugby Union, received a right royal welcome on arrival at Leeds. Over 6,000 people faceted the "ProBlacks" with round'after round of cheers. A correspondent states that it is many years since such a wild scene of enthusiasm was witnessed at Leeds. The players have, according to the Yorkshire Post, created a very favourable impression, and "are a splendid set of fellows, magnificently built physically, intelligent-., and in the main of gentlemanly bearing. It is a long time since a football team in the North of England had such a reception as they got at Leeds."
