METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Sunday was 38 points, for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Monday 16 points, and for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Tuesday 79 points, making a total for the three days of 1.32 inches. Captain Edwin reports: — Wind. —Moderate to strong from the westward at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Manukau Heads; strong to gale from the southward thence to Napier; strong to gale from the westward after from 12 to 20 hours elsewhere. Barometer. Rise slowly at all places northward of Napier, Taupo and New Plymouth; falling else where after ten hours. Rain is probable in most parts of the dominion. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited at Nugget Point.
