RIFLE SHOOTING.
COLEMAN SHIELD COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, November 11. The Coleman Shield Competition was, held at Waipawa to-day The shield was won by the Hastings Rifles with the record score for this competition, since it was reduced to' twelve men aside, of 1,020. Hawke's Bay Mounted Rifles were next with 1,000, Woodville Rifles 990, Napier Rifles 990, Ranfurly Rifles 975, Napier Guards 971, Dannevirke Rifles 970, Pahiatua Mounted Rifles 622. Sergeant Marshall, of the Pahiatua Mounted Rifles, takes the Bolton Cup for the highest individual score amongst the Mounted Corps, and also the champion belt for the highest individual score in the match with the fine score of 98.
