CRICKET.
Owing to the Petone Club not "being able to get a team together the match between the Petone gnd Mas'terton Clubs, which was to have been played here on Monday has had to be abandoned. A meeting of the committee of the Carlton Cricket Club was held, last evening, in the Occidental Hotel, there being present —Messrs E. Collinge (chairman), E. Welch, T. I|oar, J. O'Leary, C. Owen and Fl P. Welch. The following new members were elected:—H. H. Bell, R. Welch, A. Welch, junr., V. Williams, and Sheppard. The resignation oi: Mr G. Isaacs as a member of the club was accepted. Mr C. Owen was-elected to the finance committee and Mr R. Moss to the general committee. The secretary was instructed to advise all members that they must appear in the field in cricket costume and caps of the club's colours. The secretary was instructed to procure a stamp to mark the club's material. The Carlton Club are endeavouring to arrange a match with Eketahuna to be played at Masterton on Monday.
