RIFLE SHOOTING.
MaNAWATU MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., November 7. The weather for the fourth annual meeting of the Manawatu Rifle Association opened most auspiciously, but towards the afternoon it became boisterous, and shooting was carried on under difficulties. The first match, the Linton Rifle Association Match, was won by Adams, of the Pukeokatu Rifle Club, with 67 points. J. Pickering, Linton Rifle Club, Sergeant Marshall, Pahiatua, and W. Winslade, Opaki, shared second place with 66 points each In the Oroua Match Sergeant Humphries (Hawke's Bay Mounted Rifles) was first with 61 points, Sergeant Capp, Palmerston North Guards, being second with 60 points. In the Rapid Firing Match, Turnbull, Opaki, was first with 32 points, Drummond, Wanganui, being second with 31 points.
