WEDDING.
A pretty and very popular wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church, yesterday afternoon, when Miss Edith Peterson, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Peterson, of Masterton, was married to Mr Herbert J. Egan, only son of Mr Edward Egan, of and well-known in the town. The bride was given away by her father and looked handsome in a becoming dress of cream lustre, with a white hat trimmed with cream silk. The bridesmaid was Mi«s Nellie Hogg, who was attired in pink muslin, trimmed with lace and pink hat to match. Both the bride and bridegroom carried shower bouquets. Mr W. lorns was best man, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. M. Johnson. The church was filled with friends of the nyvvlywedded couple, and Mrs Hunn presided at the organ, and played the Wedding March. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, where a large number of guests were entertained. Mr and Mrs Egan left by the afternoon train for Palmerston North, where the honeymoon will be spent prior to their settling down in their new home on the West Coast of the South Island.
