METEOROLOGICAL.
During the rhonth of October 6.13 inches of rain fell at Tawataia. Rain fell on 20 days, the maximum fall being 80 points on the 2nd. The following weather forecast was issued by Captain Edwin at 9 a.m. yesterday fur the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind.-Strong to gale from between north-east and north and west after 10 hours at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Kawhia; moderate to strong northerly winds all other parts of the dominion. Barometer.--Fall everywhere. Rain is probable northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan after 16 hours. Warning signal for northerly gale will be exhibited after sunrise at Cape Maria Van Dieman andTiritiri.
