♦ ■ I The following weather forecast was issued by Captain Edwin at 9 a.m. yesterday for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind.---Strong to gale from the eastward at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan; moderate to strong easterly thence to Napier, but from ' the northward everywhere else. > Barometer.—Fall everywhere. . Rain is probable northward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan. Warning signal for easterly gale is " exhibited at Cape Maria van Diemen. Tiritiri, and East Cape. Mr W. F. Day, of Brooklyn, Gladstone, reports as follows on the rainfall during the month of October: —Total rainfall 1.64 inches on 13 days highest 0.53 on the sth, lowest .01 on Bth and 10th.
