IMPORTANT TO MASTERTON.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Your leader of October 30th, in connection with acquiring land for close settlement, is one that should stir the people of Masterton to prompt and energetic action. The necessity of closer settlement in the district is so great, in the interests of the business people and ratepayers, that a public meeting should he called at a very early date with a view to sending a strong deputation to wait on the Premier, and keep the matter going until justice.is done to Masterton, This town has been neglected long enough, and if the people don't look after their own interests now, they will lose a good opportunity of getting suitable land uear to Masterton cut upjfor close settlement.— I am, etc., R.BROWN.
