FEDERAL RIFLE MEETING.

THE EMPIRE MATCH

PRESS COMMENT. Received October 30, 9.32 a.m. SYDNEY, October 30. The Sydney Morning Herald says New Zealand should be proud of her team, for they fought an uphill game all through the Empire Match, being handicapped by want of local knowledge of the range and the absence of the masterly coaching that the British team had. Australia's win, adds the Herald, did not come as a surprise, for right through the meeting the local men have shown far better form than the members of the visiting teams. Still it was not expected that New Zealand would figure in so prominent a position.
