DROWNING FATALITY.

By Telegraph—Press Association. NELSON, October 27. On Saturday afternoon an eight-year-old son of Constable Tonkin wasdrowned at the port. The boy was seen playing on the oeach near the wharves and a little over an hour later his body was found at the high water mark. It is supposed that he slipped into the water or Was blown from the boat landing near where he was found. An additional distressing circumstance was that Constable Tonkin was informed, that a body had been found, and it was only wheti he went to recover the same that he found that it was his own son. An inquest was held the same evening, and a verdict of found drowned was returned.
