CARTERTON.

From Our Own Correspondent. Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Waira rapa Bacon and Freezing Company was held in the Borough Council Chambers to-day. -Mr W. Fisher was in the chair, and there was about fifty shareholders present. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The principal business of the meeting was the consideration of the matter of either letting the factory and plant on a lease or selling it as a going concern. Considerable discussion took place amongst those present as to the best course to pursue. Finally it was decided to give the directors full power to either sell, lease, or ' continue the business. At a subsequent meeting, Mr W. Fisher was re-elected chairman, and Messrs Ordish and Daysh directors. Mr H. S. Moss was elected auditor. It was decided to call for tenders for the lease of the factory immediately. At the monthly meeting of the Belvedere Dairy Factory, held on Monday last, the sum of £315 for milk supplied during the month of September was authorised for payment, being at the rate of 6d per pound of butter fat. The supply of milk at all the factories is steadily increasing. The mild weather that has been experienced of late has proved very beneficial to the pastures.
