LAND LAWS AMENDMENT BILL.

(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, October 17. The House in the evening passed the last original clause of the Land Laws Amendment Bill, and the Minister then introduced seventeen new clauses. New clause 73a provides that expenses payable out of the land for settlements'account shall include expenses on administration of land for settlements land after leasing thereof, including the collection of rents and inspection. New clause 73b authorises the Minister to expend money from the land for settlements account for improving, reading, draining or otherwise benefiting or protecting settlement lands, but such money shall not be expended unless appropriated by Parliament for the purpose. Both the above clauses were passed without amendment.
